Passport required
Tour participants must ensure that they have the proper travel documents. Passports must be valid six months beyond travel dates.  If you plan to travel soon, and have no passport, your application can be "fast tracked" for an additional fee. It's always a good idea to make two photocopies, leaving one with your emergency contact person and bringing the other with you - but kept safe and seperate from the official one.

What to Bring
Less is more - do NOT overpack!!  For England, the best women's travel clothing choice is lightweight mix-and-match layers (it can be chilly, then hot in the same day). Comfortable walking shoes are very important, and a STURDY compact umbrella (just in case). If you like cream in your coffee bring powdered packets or you'll get milk. Oh, and a camera, of course!

You'll be VERY glad if you follow this tip: your luggage should be no larger than a 24-25" roll-around with a strong collapsible handle. Your carry-on should attach to this in some way (via a strap that fits over the handle is best).  Tell yourself there's a reward for the most sensibly packed travel bag - and there is, believe me. Purchase a TSA travel lock for all luggage - any other type of lock will be cut off.

If you bring travelers checks for miscellaneous expenses, be sure they are in British pounds NOT U.S. dollars (not every bank offers them, so don't assume yours does).

Power Travel Adapter
There are TWO differences: The actual power is different, and can fry your hair dryer, etc. so you need a voltage converter.  If your appliance has a switch for voltage, you will still need a plug adapter for the second difference.  Buy a universal travel adapter kit ( a voltage converter and multiple plug adapters) if you plan to travel to other countries at some point.

Travel Insurance
Most tours, including our self guided tour, are not strenuous - however there is a great deal of walking.  It is up to you, as a responsible traveler, to select a trip that matches your physical abilities and to be in good health (this includes having any required vaccinations).  You should verify with your medical insurance provider coverage while traveling. We strongly suggest that you purchase travel insurance to protect against nonrefundable costs including, but not limited to, medical emergencies.
